Clearing and land cleaning in Walloon Brabant and Flanders

Tall grasses, brambles, young shoots that invade a plot: Vert Val clears and cleans your abandoned land in Walloon Brabant and Brussels. We come with our mini-loader equipped with a knife-hammer shredder and an operator from our team. You have nothing to rent, nothing to transport, nothing to handle.

Objective : to make the land readable, accessible and easier to maintain.

For whom : individuals, owners of building plots, meadows and large lands, developers.

What we clear

Our machine cuts and shreds long grasses, undergrowth, brambles and light woody plants, up to 3 cm in diameter. It particularly intervenes on :

•      Abandoned or neglected land : clearing of a plot overrun by tall grasses, brambles and young shoots.

•      Building plots : cleaning before land survey, soil tests or start of construction.

•      Fields and meadows : shredding of high vegetation, from a few ares to several hectares.

•      Verge, paths and roads : clearing of areas overrun by vegetation.

•      Edges and abandoned hedges : shredding of bramble bushes, ferns and young woody shoots.

Our equipment, a Nordcar 7750 mini-loader and a hammer mill

We work with a Nordcar 7750 mini-loader equipped with a knife-hammer mill. These knives ensure powerful cutting and effective grinding, even in dense vegetation. The machine is designed for intensive and continuous use: it keeps pace on large areas as well as on heavily infested plots. [Add the working width and an indicative yield in m² per hour.]

For you, this means :

•      One single point of contact : transport of the machine, intervention and site cleaning.

•      A quick job : an area that would take several days by hand is treated in a few hours.

•      A clean result : the vegetation is ground finely and left on site as mulch, or removed on request.

•      No risk for you : no rental, no handling of a dangerous machine, no insurance to check.

Access conditions and type of terrain

The mini-loader is compact, but it needs suitable terrain. Before any intervention, we check three conditions :

1 Condition 1

An access of at least 1.60 m wide : gate, passage or path allowing the machine to reach the plot.

2 Condition 2

A flat or gently sloping terrain : steep slopes and sharp inclines are excluded, for the safety of the operator and the machine.

3 Condition 3

No stumps or hidden objects : our shredder processes wood up to 3_5 cm. Concrete or metal posts, fence wires, scrap metal, large blocks: anything that protrudes from the ground must be reported before the intervention, or removed.

This last point is essential. Old meadows and ancient woods often hide old fences under the vegetation. A concrete post or scrap metal hit by the shredder can damage the machine and project debris: it is a matter of safety, insurance, and respect for the equipment. If your wasteland is filled with metal posts or dangerous objects, our service is not suitable: they must first be removed or another method chosen.

Uncertain about your land? Send us some photos and the width of the access: we will tell you honestly if our machine is suitable.

Hammer shredder or flail mower, what changes for your land

The flail mower cuts with blades that rotate flat. Especially in the forestry version, it tackles larger wood and small stumps. The hammer knife shredder uses hammers mounted on a horizontal rotor: it stops at about 3 cm of wood, but it leaves a finer mulch that decomposes quickly, projects fewer stones and debris, and follows uneven ground better. It is the ideal tool for wastelands, brambles, and young shoots. For stumps or trees, a forestry shredding is necessary.

Clearing price, an estimate on a case-by-case basis

There is no reliable price per m² for clearing: it all depends on the condition of the land. A plot that is mowed or cleared regularly, with only small plants, progresses very quickly. A thicket overrun with brambles, with trees every two metres, takes much more time.

Our way of working :

1.   Estimation : based on your photos, the address and the area, or a visit if necessary, we estimate the time required.

2.   Billing by half-day or full day : the base rate includes one operator with the mini-loader and its transport.

3.   Reinforcements if necessary : a second operator on the ground to cut or clear inaccessible areas, or a wood chipper, only when the terrain requires it.

Factors affecting duration :

•      The condition of the land : regularly maintained, or left fallow for years.

•      The density and type of vegetation : tall grass, established brambles, woody shoots.

•      Obstacles : trees to navigate around, areas to finish by hand.

•      The chippings : left on site as mulch, or collected and removed.

•      The travel : distance from our base in Rixensart.

If the land has become a real mini-forest, our equipment is no longer suitable on its own: we then offer other means, priced separately.

Our method, two passes for a clean result

We clear each site in two passes: the first to open and check the plot, a second for finishing. Before that, you send us the address, the area, the width of the access, some photos and the known obstacles; we check that the site is suitable for our machine and confirm the estimate.

1.   Surveying : upon arrival, the operator circles the plot and identifies the reported or visible obstacles.

2.   First pass : the machine moves progressively through the vegetation and crushes the largest. This pass also serves to check that no objects are hidden under the grasses and brambles.

3.   Second pass : once the site is opened, the operator goes back over it finely to crush the remains, stems and small shoots, until a fine and homogeneous mulch is obtained.

4.   End of work : mulch left on site as mulch or removed according to your choice, access and surroundings left clean.

The result, a cleared site and an intact soil

After our intervention, the vegetation is crushed to about 5 cm above the ground: tall grasses, weeds, brambles and small woody shoots disappear. We do not till the soil: no milling, no ploughing, no root removal. The soil retains its structure, and the mulch protects it as it decomposes. If you have any specific instructions for your site, please indicate them in your request.

Intervention area

Based in La Hulpe, we operate throughout Walloon Brabant, Flanders and the Brussels-Capital Region, particularly in Wavre, Ottignies-Louvain-la-Neuve, Waterloo, Genval, Braine-l'Alleud, Overijse, Tervuren.... For large areas, we can travel further upon request.

Is your land overrun? Send us two photos, the address and the width of the access: we will respond with a turnkey estimate.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

We work on estimation, then by half-day or full day. The base rate includes one operator with the machine; a second ground operator or a wood chipper is added only if the land requires it. Send us the address and a few photos for an estimate.

There is no reliable price per m² as the speed of progress varies greatly from one plot to another. A regularly maintained meadow is treated much faster than an undergrowth overrun with brambles, with trees every two metres. That is why we estimate each plot and charge by half-day or full day.

Access must be at least 1.60 m wide to allow our mini-loader to pass. The land must be flat or gently sloping: steep banks and sharp slopes are excluded. Stumps and large obstacles must be reported.

No. Our hammer knife shredder handles long grasses, brambles and light woody plants up to 3 cm in diameter. For a few larger subjects, a second operator can cut them down to the ground. A true mini-forest requires other means, which we assess on a case-by-case basis.

Report them before the intervention. Old meadows and former woods often hide concrete or metal posts, barbed wire or scrap metal, which can damage the machine and project debris. If your wasteland is filled with them, our service is not suitable: they must be removed first or another method chosen.

We work in two passes. The first opens up the vegetation and allows us to check that no objects are hidden. The second, finer pass, grinds the remains and small shoots for a clean result and a homogeneous mulch.

We shred the vegetation to about 5-10 cm above the ground. We do not work the soil: no tilling, no ploughing, no root pulling. If you have specific instructions, please indicate them in your quote request.

Clearing removes low vegetation: tall grasses, brambles, young shoots. Deforestation restores land that has been colonised for a long time. We carry out both, as long as the woody vegetation does not exceed 3 cm in diameter.

No, it is not mandatory. The shredder reduces vegetation to fine mulch that decomposes on site. If you prefer bare soil, we can collect and dispose of the chippings.

With us, you pay for a result, not a day of rental. Transport, operation of the machine, safety and maintenance are included, and the work is done faster by an experienced operator.
